"DEER ISLE, Maine - Anne and Peter Beerits aren't sure how to define Nervous Nellie's. At its heart it's a kitchen that produces a wonderful array of jams, jellies, and chutneys under the Nervous Nelllie's name. Seasonally, there's also a tea room where visitors can sample the pruducts, perhaprs slathering them on scones of other fresh baked goods eased down with tea or coffee.
But no one can help but notice the fantastic menagerie around the grounds. Huns on horseback, knights in shining armor. a lobster and a tuna playing checkers, and a bear beating a drum are just a few of the inhabitants."
The breakfast jams and jellies featured at the Pentagoet Inn are produced locally by Nervous Nellies Jams and Jellies in Deer Isle, Maine. This small business is indicative of the kind of unique people and businesses that populate the Blue Hill peninsula and make it such an interesting place to visit. Anne and Peter Beerits, owners of Nervous Nellies have created a special place in Deer Isle that draws visitors from all over the world with the scent of succulent spreads and the eye popping sculptures which create a fantastical setting.
